The oldest known remains of domesticated cacao, about 5,300 years old, were found in southern Ecuador. A cacao ceremony draws on that root: a circle around a cup of pure cacao, with intention, music and shared silence. At Portal de Paz in Mindo, they are led by Monica of Siddha Healings, who also teaches yoga and sound baths at the space. It is a gentle practice and no experience is needed.
