Kambo

Kambo is the secretion of the giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), used for generations by peoples of the Amazon. It is applied to a few small superficial points on the skin, and the effect is intense and short: it usually passes in under half an hour. At Portal de Paz in Mindo, sessions are offered by Michelle, the space's co-founder and a kambo facilitator certified in Ecuador. Kambo is not for everyone. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with heart conditions, low blood pressure, a history of stroke or epilepsy, or with some medications. That is why Michelle talks with you about your health before booking. What to expect: Michelle explains how to prepare, and the session takes place in a private, quiet room with time to rest afterward. How to book: message Michelle on WhatsApp from this page.
